Walkthrough vs Inspection

Walkthrough and Inspection are two words that are used in organizational behavior and in business. The two terms are indeed different when it comes to their inner meanings. A walkthrough is nothing but an informal meeting that takes place to evaluate the performance of a product. This kind of meeting needs no preparation whatsoever.

On the other hand an inspection is a detailed examination of the documents concerned with the performance of a product or a service and the like. This is the main difference between the two terms, namely, walkthrough and inspection.

It is interesting to note that an inspection necessitates the presence of about 3 to 8 people including a moderator, a recorder and a reader to analyze the performance of a service or a product and to evaluate the matter in the documents concerned therein. This is the very purpose of an inspection.

In short it can be said that an inspection is a type of peer review that relies on visual examination of all documents concerned with the business in a bid to detect any type of defect. At the same time the purpose of an inspection consists in implementing methods that aim at the improvement of the performance levels.
