To me, seers are those human beings that have written the scriptures, while those who believe in what their pastors, priests and rabbis tell them. Direct experiencing in the material world while believing is the psychological world. Our problem is not realizing the difference. It only costs taking 40 days and nights or so, to see the difference.

If perception is the way in which something is perceived through the senses, why do we perceive the world differently? We all have the same senses, yet we all have a different perception of the world. That is what makes people good or bad.

Perception is mostly based on belief because we all have to create a worldview for ourselves to not wander around aimlesly.

Believe does refer to sensory information in the way that we perceive and then believe. For example: One may look at bones from an old dinosaur and believes its 5 billion years old, while someone else looks at it and believes its 20 thousand years old. Same perception, other belief system.
