Google Adwords vs Adsense
In the present ecommerce era, direct marketing through emails sent to your mailbox and on line marketing promotion by advertising on social network sites are a common phenomena. You can place you ads as side banners on most visited websites. To place your advertisement on these social networks, you don’t have to pay for the advertisement in advance; you agree to pay per click only. The two leading names in this arena are Google Adwords and Google Adsense. These are pay per click services.
Google Adwords
Google Adwords is a service via which any business wanting to establish themselves online can get itself registered so that it appears in Google’s search engine, as well as countless other search engines as possible. How this is done is that the business is supposed to register for an account and submit its advert which can be an ad banner and choose an amount that the owner of the business is willing to pay for every time someone clicks on their ad. This is then followed by entering the credit card number so that each time someone clicks on the ad, the credit card gets charged and Google receives the income for its services. This is known as a pay per click service.
Google Adsense
Adsense is also an advertising service provided by Google in the virtual world. As businesses erupt on the internet, more and more advertising on the internet are coming up. In Adsense, the businesses pay to be advertised not on search engines but on other sites such as social networks or any site that generates a large traffic. Adsense requires those interested and owning a website to register for an account and the advertising is done using the advertisements from Adwords. Therefore these ads appear on the side of a website in a column and each time someone clicks on these ads, the website owner is paid.
Difference between Google Adwords and Adsense
Though both are essentially present to serve the same purpose and generate income in much the same way, the major difference is that in Adwords the person interested in advertising pays to Google to receive Google’s services. In Adsense, Google pays a certain website to use the space on the website. Therefore the payers in both scenarios differ. A certain percentage of the income generated from the click in Adsense is set to pay the website owner. The two services are interlinked. The ads from Google Adwords are forwarded to Google Adsense to be advertised on other websites. In Adwords, the person interested in advertising their ad registers to Google. In Adsense, the person interested in publishing these ads registers with Google.
Conclusion
Both are income generating resources, one for Google and the other for any website owner, however these are wise investments as most customers are present online. Such pay per click services are required to communicate to the whole of the world as the internet has transcended all geographical barriers.
