Cheese vs Yogurt

Cheese and Yogurt are two types of food that show difference between them when it comes to their preparation and nature. Although it is true that both cheese and yogurt are dairy products, yet they bear some differences between them.

Yogurt is made from milk fermentation. On the other hand cheese is made from acidification. This is the main difference between the two. Bacteria are used in the acidification of milk in the case of the preparation of cheese. On the other hand, yogurt is prepared under anaerobic conditions.

乳酸acid provides the tangy flavor in Yogurt, whereas bacteria provide the taste in cheese. It is believed that yogurt has a lot of medicinal benefits. It is highly useful for digestion. It is believed that yogurt cleanses the colon too. On the other hand cheese is mainly used as a source of protein.

Yogurt is prescribed in the treatment of inflammatory bowel syndrome, colon cancer and diarrhea. It is said to contain a high quantity of vitamin D and calcium too. Hence yogurt is said to prevent diseases related to bones, such as osteoporosis.

Since cheese is made from milk coagulated with enzyme, it is not always tangy. Sometimes, lemonade is used in the preparation of cheese. Vinegar is also used in the preparation of cheese. On the other hand, vinegar is not used in the preparation of yogurt. It is important to note that whole milk is reacted to form curds in the making of cheese. These curds are generally compressed and processed in the preparation of cheese.

On the other hand the preparation of yogurt involves the processing of curds before they become too hard. Experts in cooking feel there is not much of a difference in the processing involved in the preparation of cheese and yogurt.
