Mosque vs Dargah

Mosque and Dargah are two types of Islamic constructions that show difference between them. A mosque is a place of worship in Islam. It is a place where Muslims make prostration to Allah. The prostration made to Allah is called as sujood.

A Dargah on the other hand is a shrine built by the Sufi Muslims over the grave of a respected religious leader. Dargahs are normally built over the graves of Sufi saints. The deceased saints for whom Dargahs are built are often considered great servants and messengers of Allah.

One of the main differences between a mosque and a dargah is that a mosque is a place of worship for the Muslims whereas a dargah is not a place of worship for the Muslims. This is due to the fact that Islam recommends prostration only to Allah and not to the deceased saints in the dargah.

因此,维argah is only a kind of graveyard whereas mosque is a place where the head priest conducts prayers for the people who visit it. The head priest of the mosque is called by the name ‘imam’. The entire world according to Islam is a place of worship except two places, namely, a graveyard and a restroom.

It is important to know that mosque is also called by the name masjid. Sometimes it is also called as masajid. In short it can be said that any place where a Muslim does prostration to Allah is called a masjid. It is interesting to note that a Muaddin is available in the mosque and his responsibility is to call to prayer. In fact he is the one who gives adhaan to the Muslims in a masjid or a mosque. It is quite possible that Muslims identify a place in their locality to construct a mosque.
