比哈尔and Uttar Pradesh are two very important states in the northern Indo Gangetic plane area of India. These two states form the cow belt or the Hindi belt that also includes Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Taken together, they are given a name BIMARU that jokingly refers to backward states that weigh down India’s progress. When it comes to UP and Bihar, the two states share many similarities like language and culture, though there are differences that will be highlighted in this article.

Uttar Pradesh
不仅仅是在印度人口最多的国家,it is also the sub national identity that has the highest population in the world. Despite accounting for 20% of India’s population, UP contributes just 8.34% to country’s GDP. With an area of nearly 244000 square kilometers, Lucknow is the capital of UP, while its industrial capital is considered to be Kanpur. UP is believed to be the birthplace of Hinduism, one of the important religions of the world. Major economic activity of the state is agriculture with nearly 73% of the population engaged in farming activities. Kanpur is ahead of Lucknow when it comes to industrial production, though the chikan art and the culture of Lucknow are world famous. Lucknow, especially Malihabad which is a nearby area, is world famous for its Dussehri mango production. Mirzapur in UP is world famous for its carpets while Aligarh is famous for brass products. The world famous Taj Mahal is situated in Agra in UP. Varanasi in UP is believed to be the world’s most ancient city, and is revered by Hindus all over the world for its religious importance.

比哈尔is a state sharing borders with UP and lying further eastwards in the country. It is 12th largest in terms of area (nearly one hundred thousand square kilometers), having a high density of population being 3rd most populous state. Bihar lags behind other states of India, in terms of output and GDP, though it has made considerable progress in the last few years. The distinction of giving the world its first democracy in the form of the province of Vaishali goes to Bihar. Bihar is very rich in natural resources having the highest proportion of minerals in the country. Despite its backwardness, Bihar was a seat of higher learning in the ancient times with Universities of Nalanda and Vaishali attracting even foreign students for learning.
The economy of the state is dependent upon its mineral reserves, agriculture and service sector. Despite its dismal record in terms of GDP, Bihar has been making striking progress in the last few years, and its GDP has been growing at a rate of 18% as against the national average of 8%, thus making Bihar the fastest growing Indian state.
What is the difference between Uttar Pradesh and Bihar? · UP is larger in the area than Bihar; also, has a much higher population. · Though both are considered backward in comparison to other states, Bihar has been progressing at a much faster rate in the last few years than UP, and surprisingly, ranks 2nd only to Gujarat in terms of GDP. · Bihar has higher mineral reserves than UP. · UP has agriculture based economy, while Bihar is dependent upon minerals, agriculture and service sectors. |
The fact is that Biharis have migrated in great numbers to other states of india and so in large number in Uttar Pradesh.In every city of Uttar Pardesh there are slums where Biharis have settled so have created a slums at every corner of the Cities.the bihari women work as maid in the houses of People of Uttar Pardesh. We call these women as Biharin,the male biharis work as rickshaw pullers and vegetable vendors etc. But there is no vice versa that People of Uttar Pardesh donot migrate or settle in Bihar. when ever any discussion comes on under development a Bihari will always name uttar Pradesh along with bihar but there UP people will not take the name of Bihar. Uttar pradesh should not be compared with bihar .Utter Pradesh is far far ahead from Bihar in GDP, Educational institutions (IITs ,IIM,IIIT,AMU,Allahabad University,BHU,MNIT),Noida,Ghaziabad,Allahabad,Lko,Kanpur are big educational hubs for Management,Engineering and medical Education).Uttar Pradesh has highest number of Indutries in India.Uttar Pradesh is steadily on the path of progress from last one decade.Bihars is moving from negative development idex to positive and hence a slight improvement ( that is good) is hyped by biharis.Never forget that Uttar pradesh is a big exporter of IT services and too many Biharis have got employment there.
@mohsinshakeel:disqus-Patna has also witnessed great influx of up labors which are increasing slum population in our city. In our colony most of the maid are from mIrzapur, ballia,jhansi,gorakhpur etc. In rural areas huge no. of up labors are working under the landlords of our state.
But unlike you we do not discriminate them by calling them uttar pradeshi or outsiders even if they are coming from a crime prone state. I know that up dont take the name of bihar when they are doing something good but they take the name of bihar or run to bihar when they commit a crime(spoiling the name of our state).Even in mumbai ,it was a clash between SP workers and MNS but they just dragged Bihari in their fight.
And yes now no one can deny the fact that bihar is out pacing up in terms of development so stop saying that “Uttar Pradesh is steadily on the path of progress from last one decade.”. when u talk about gdp see ur area and population and the advantage of bordering delhi .
we also have loads of educational institues i.e.IITs ,BITs,NITs,AIIMS,AMU,Patna university etc.The fact is UP was very slow when we see its advantages (geogaphical,historical,poltical)and its achievements . Last but not the least i have no intentions to hurt any nationalist But it was just a reply which will help you in your future .SO YOU NEVER FORGET THAT BIHAR IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF INDIA AND NO ONE CAN CALL US MIGRANT IN OUR OWN COUNTRY.

mohsin bhai i am also a allahabadi and a pure allahabdi from generations , and speak allahabadi very fluently , though i share u thought when it comes to language that people of other states thinks that allahabadi speaks bhojpuri which is altoghther wrong we speak allahabadi which is a dialect of awadhi , and have different accent than of bhojpuri speaker wherein they make lot of gender mistake, but bhai please dont hate anoyone who is poor , in india people have tendency to rediculed poor people. we are indian and any indian has the right to go and work in any part of india.
I am from Allahabad and I swear that in my locality Bihari women work as maid in almost all the houses and they have unauthorized settlements called slums at every nook and corner.on the other hand the biharis who have financial means have got houses and settle permanently and now behave as if they are living in Bihar.untill last decade we had never seen the festivals like Chatt Pooja in Allahabad.
Yeah we know that Bihar is outpacing other Indian states in terms of development.
But please my dear writer , stop widening the already widen gap between Bihar and other Indian states .. up and bihar are sister states dont point out there differences.
