Solar Nails vs Gel Nails

Women have traditionally tried to look attractive by beautifying their nails with colors like nail polishes. Long, manicured nails that look healthy and clean are indeed very appealing to eyes. These days, there are nail enhancements or artificial nails that are applied over natural nails through different means in such a manner that they look real. There are many different types of coverings and treatments used by ladies, but they remain confused between solar nails and gel nails. The reality is that artificial nails are of two types namely acrylic and gel and solar is an upgrade of acrylic nails. Most do not know the pros and cons of either type of nail. This article will explain both solar as well as gel nails to help readers go for either of the two methods on their nails.

Gel Nails

These are nail extensions that make nails look long and beautiful. In reality, a gel is brushed on to real nails and treated with UV light to let it harden. The nails become strong and have a glossy look. Gel nails are odorless and can be easily applied over natural nails. Usually three coats or layers of gel are applied over natural nails for base coat, the color chosen, and the top layer that gets cured under UV for a few minutes. Gel nails are just as strong as acrylic nails, but they are costly to be used. These nails are free of chemicals and thus safer than acrylic nails. Gel nails are made of resins of polymers, and they do not last long like acrylic nails.

Solar Nails

Solar nails are not gel nails or acrylic nails and thus do not categorize as nail enhancements. They are, in fact, a manicure line launched by Creative, to provide a kind of manicure that makes nails look stronger, healthier, and more beautiful. The treatment lasts for around 2 weeks. Salons confuse ladies and create an impression as if this is a third type of nails, in addition to gel nails and acrylic nails. But the reality is that it is an upgrade of acrylic nails. Even its application is different from the way acrylic nails are applied over natural nails. This application is a two step process where the white tip is first covered, and later the pink part of the nail is covered, so as to create nails that look almost real. Unlike acrylic nails, solar nails do not chip off easily and last longer. They have enough gloss not even need to use any nail polish.

What is the difference between Solar Nails and Gel Nails?

• Gel nails are eco-friendly, in the sense that no chemicals are applied over nails, whereas solar nails make use of chemicals.

• Gel nails have a lot of shine but are not as strong as solar nails.

• Solar nails are a type of acrylic nails launched by Creative Company as a manicure line.

• Solar nails are more expensive than gel nails.
