Motorola Droid Bionic vs Droid HD

While everyone is anxiously waiting for Droid Bionic, Motorola’s flagship device with 4.3 inch display, it appears that Motorola is getting ready to release yet another Droid that is bigger, much slimmer and lighter than Bionic and code named as Droid HD.

Motorola Droid Bionic is a global phone that uses a T1 OMAP dual-core 1GHz processor with 512 MB DDR2 RAM. It sports a 8 MP camera with LED flash, auto focus, digital zoom and capable to capture videos at[email protected]and holds a VGA camera in the front to use with video calling. The display is 4.3 inch qHD (quarter High Definition) which support 960 x 540 resolution. It has 16GB on-board memory and supports up to additional 32 GB with microSD card. For connectivity it has Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 +EDR, USB 2.0 HS and HDMI out with Mirroring ( can view on phone and TV screen simultaneously). With HDMI and DLNA users can stream music and videos at 4G speed and share it on a HDTV, playback is supported up to 1080p. The other features include sGPS with Google Maps, Google Latitude and Google Maps street view, eCompass, WebKit browser with Adobe flash player 10.x and a strong battery life (1930 mAh – same as the Atrix 4G battery) with a rated talktime of 9 hours (3G) network. It also can act as moile hotspot and connect up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices

The Phone is compatible with 4G-LTE 700 and 3G-CDMA Ev-DO networks and runs Android 2.2 with Motoblur. Motorola Droid Bionic is quite thick and bulky compared to the smartphones in the same period. It measures 13.2 mm thickness and weighs 158g. The dimensions are 125.90 x 66.90 x 13.2 mm.

Droid HD is reported to be running Android 2.3, and sports a 4.5-inch qHD or even a higher resolution display, 8 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video recording capapbility. The design is reportedly very attractive with a thickness very close to Galaxy S II.
