What is Dysphonia?

Dysphonia occurs when the voice sounds very raspy, strained, or breathy. This is a very common condition, and about one-third of people will have this condition at some point in their lives. The common symptoms of dysphonia may include hoarseness, variations in voice intensity, absence of voice, coughing, and sore throat when speaking.
