Samsung Galaxy S2 (Galaxy S II) and Galaxy S2 Mini are two Galaxy sibilings Samsung is releasing in Q2 2011. Samsung is releasing the younger sibiling Galaxy S2 Mini first before releasing super smartphone Galaxy S2 (GT – i9100). These are both Android smart phones based on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Galaxy S2 created a high expectation when it was officially announced in February 2011 with its exciting specification like 4.3 inch super AMOLED plus dispaly, 1 GHz dual core processor with enhanced graphic processing, 8 MP camera with dual LED flash, 1080p video recording and play, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi Direct, a new personalized UX and support HSPA+. Galaxy S2 Mini also carries high end features though it’s named Mini. It’s packed with hardware that’s better than many of its competitors like 3.7 inch WVGA dispaly, 1.4 GHz processor, Wi-Fi n, and support HSPA+. Looking at the specification, the main differences between Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S2 Mini are the screen size, processor and camera.

Samsung introducing Galaxy S2 Mini as a smaller alternative for Galaxy S2, it features 1.4 GHz processor, 3.7 inch WVGA capacitive touch screen, 5 MP auto focus, LED flash camera, front facing VGA camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, mobile hotspot capability and compatible with UMTS and HSPA+.

Galaxy S II (or Galaxy S2) is the thinnest phone to date, measuring only 8.49 mm. It’s faster and gives better viewing experience than its predecessor Galaxy S. Galaxy S II is packed with 4.3″ WVGA Super AMOLED plus touch screen, Exynos chipset with 1 GHz dual core Cortex A9 CPU and ARM Mali-400 MP GPU, 8 megapixels camera with LED flash, touch focus and[email protected]HD video recording, 2 megapixels front facing camera for video calling, 1GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory expandable with microSD card, Bluetooth 3.0 support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, HDMI out, DLNA certified, Adobe Flash Player 10.1, mobile hotspot capability and runs Android’s latest OS Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Android 2.3 has added many features while improving on existing features in Android 2.2 version.
The chipset in Samsung Galaxy S2, the Samsung Exynos 4210 is built with 1 GHz Dual Core Cortex A9 CPU and ARM Mali-400 MP GPU. The chipset is designed specifically to meet the needs of high performance, low power mobile applications and offers superb multimedia performance.
The super AMOLED plus display is highly responsive and has a better viewing angle than its predecessor. Samsung also introduces a new personalizable UX on Galaxy S2 which has a magazine style layout that selects the contents used most and displays on the homescreen. The live contents can be personalized. And the web browsing also improved to optimize Android 2.3 fully and you get a seamless browsing experience with Adobe Flash Player.
The additonal applications include Kies 2.0, Kies Air, AllShare, Voice Recognition & Voice Translation, NFC (Near Field Communication) and the native Social, Music and Games hub from Samsung. Game hub offers 12 social network games and 13 premium games including Gameloft’s Let Golf 2 and Real Football 2011.
Samsung in addtion to providing entertainment has more to offer the businesses. The entreprise solutions include Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, On Device Encryption, Cisco’s AnyConnect VPN, MDM (Mobile Device Management) and Cisco WebEx.
