If you decide to become a Goblin engineer, you travel up to Gadgetzan to meet master Goblin engineer. He will give a task that involves making 20 big iron bombs, 20 solid dynamite, and 5 explosive sheep. When you craft all items and return to him, you are inducted as a member of the goblin Engineer society. On the other hand, if you choose to become a Gnomish engineer, you need to travel up to Booty Bay to meet master Gnomish engineer who will give a different task that involves making 6 Mithril tubes, 2 advanced target dummies, and 1 accurate scope. Upon completing the task, you are inducted as a Gnomish engineer.

What is the difference between Gnomish and Goblin Engineering?

Talking of differences, as a Goblin engineer, you can hope to learn to make smart explosives and even rocket launcher. Goblin devices always work and never fail, which is often the case with Gnomish devices. Goblin devices always inflict serious damage or even kill. As a Gnomish engineer, you can learn to make bizarre devices that can allow you to take control of minds of others or to turn someone into a chicken. The only problem with Gnomish tricks is that devices do not always work as you desire, and there is a high failure rate with gnomish devices than Goblin devices.
