Endogamy is the practice of marriage where two individuals of a specific social group, caste or ethnic group unite. These individuals disregard close personal relationships for marriage. Endogamy is common in culture and ethnic groups. However, in certain instances, endogamous marriages require marital religious conversions as well. However, within a homogamous marriage, endogamy is also visible as two individuals with the same cultural backgrounds unite on the basis of their ethnicity and religion.
