I have had a patch test and am allergic or very sensitive to Benzoic Acid. I understand that the salts and esters are slightly different compounds but since they share the benzoic ring, would I also be allergic or sensitive to sodium benzoate or alky benzoate…and thus avoid them when listed in ingredients?
